New on the site: price history, guides, IRA basics and a coin reference
We added price history back to 2000, a data-based market report, plain-language guides, a precious metals IRA section and a reference library.
We have added several new sections to help you understand gold and silver before you buy or sell.
- Prices: live gold and silver prices, prices by gram and karat, and price history year by year.
- Market report: a short daily summary built only from real closing prices. No forecasts.
- Guides: step-by-step help for selling jewelry, coins, silver and inherited gold, plus taxes and testing.
- Precious metals IRA: how rollovers and transfers work, which metals the IRS allows, and the warning signs of a bad deal.
- Coins and bars: the metal content of common coins and bars, with a live melt value for each.
- Reference: a glossary, hallmark and purity tables, and weight conversions.
